Mike mechanical whisk
Year: 2018 Hochschule Darmstadt

Miuki is a one-handed, manual whisk that achieves a high speed of rotation without electricity. The mechanism of the whisk is based on the function of a dynamo flashlight, using different sized gears to achieve high speed with minimal effort.

Construction and assembly of the mechanical stirring whisk.

A dynamo flashlight has a hand-cranked generator that uses gears to amplify the motion of the hand crank and transfer it to the generator’s rotor. The rotor is a magnet that rotates inside a coil of wire, which induces an electric current through electromagnetic induction. By adjusting the gear ratio, the generator can rotate faster, resulting in more efficient power generation.
